PT Alumindo Light Metal Industry Tbk. (Alumindo) is a leading flat rolled aluminium manufacturer in Indonesia and South East Asia. Located in Sidoarjo, East Java, Alumindo was established in 1978 and started commercial production in 1983, with initial production capacities of 12,000 tons and 4,800 tons p.a. of aluminium sheet and foil respectively. Aluminium sheet is usually used as basic material for kitchen and household utensils, transportation vehicles, as well s building materials. Aluminium foil is primarily used for packaging industry.

In the beginning, Alumindo’s products were intended to meet the raw material needs of the Maspion Group to produce various metal kitchenware and of the packaging industry in Indonesian market. In line with the constantly increased demand, Alumindo has gradually added its production capacity to the current level of 144,000 tons for sheet and 15,600 tons for foil. Alumindo continues to upgrade its production facilities by adopting the latest technology to improve production processes and deliver high quality products to strengthen its leading position as the largest manufacturer in South East Asia.

Following the positive growth over the years, in 1997 Alumindo became a public company by listing its shares in the Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange, both of which have been merged to become the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The total shares listed on the stock exchange are 308,000,000 shares. In 1998 Alumindo achieved the certification of ISO 9002 from Lloyd’s Register (adapted to ISO 9001:2000), an international recognition for production process standardization and this has been maintained up to date. In 2001 Alumindo received the Primaniyarta Award, which is a national recognition for an outstanding export performance. In 2007 and 2010 Alumindo again achieved the same award for the category of exporter with excellent performance.
